Chess In Schools

Dibyendu Barua Chess Academy runs a “Chess In Schools” programme for the schools and educational institutions of the city. The main purpose of this programme is to spread chess-literacy at the grass-root level so that the children can reap the benefits of playing chess in their educational and personal lives. Under this programme, the Academy offers the services of specially trained coaches, who visit the schools and conduct weekly classes for the students. The training material have been specially structured to make the process of learning fun and enjoyable, and thus to invoke greater interest and love for the game in the young minds. Grandmaster Dibyendu Barua visits the schools under this programme once a year and interacts with the students.


This programme also serves as a talent-hunting process, whereby, talented students are spotted and offered admission into the Academy for intensive training.
